Hi and thanks for your question!

Finding a VCR is a rather interesting process but not impossible I must say. Because production of only VCRs seems to have evolved into VCR/DVD combos coming across a reasonably priced VCR that is new is rare indeed.

In searching for items I came across the two listed here and Amazon proved a noble site to venture to. My only problem there was finding items that were actually brand new and not already used. Sometimes I hesitate to trust used electronics that are being sold though I don't mind a used book any day!

One site seemed to partner up with Amazon in selling VCRs only but only had two listings as well. One of the items is priced over $100 and I do not recommend purchasing that. VCRs should not cost that much! They shouldn't even be more than $50 normally. But I do understand the price sort of because the item is no longer produced and anyone wanting just a VCR has to make the decision if they REALLY want to pay that much to have it.

The Sylvania VCR is what I use to have before I gave it to my sister and it worked great but I paid $30 for it at Wal-mart more than 3 years ago. So the used price is...well, too much. These two were really the only on Amazon. There was another that looked older than what I am use to of a VCR so I hesitate to recommend it and the fourth one available via Amazon was another pocket breaker.

You will also want to check out your local thrift shops. I often see them in there sometimes but know that any electronics bought there are sold "As is." They are your best bet if you're looking for something immediately and cheaper than what I've seen so far online.

Last note, Ebay may want to be a place you check out as well. Albeit, that's a site were the word "used" is truly king.
