Hello there! Welcome fellow texter!

I understand your desire for a good phone and am up for a renewed contract myself in the next two months so your question is most welcome and helpful for my search as well! On a first note (and you may already know) Verizon requires that you have a data plan if you get a smart phone. It use to be only that you could get unlimited and had to shell out the $30 bucks a month but I've heard they have come out with other mobile data plans as well that are cheaper and have a set data limit per month. Just be careful with those! The LG's only require a plan of at least $10 per month (data plan, I mean) and the other two $30.

Furthermore any phone is best bought via contract with that company. Buying unlocked phones with Verizon is tricky and I haven't quite figured that one out yet cause they really don't like it. Also to mention, the phones are usually cheaper by contract anyway.

All the phones I found are accessible via the Verizon Wireless website where a host of other phones are present and I tried to pick three that may be of interest to you.

My favorite phone of all these is the LG EnV touch because my sister has that and I've been able to use it and play with it a little bit (though I don't plan to get the same phone as my sister, lol). It slides up to reveal the QWERTY keyboard harbored beneath. When you access the net it is pretty straight forward and she's used it for directions on the road as well. Not that none of the others wouldn't though!

For me if it were possible I'd aim for the HTC phone. Albeit, dropping it would make me cry. =( So if you're prone to dropping definitely aim lower in price! Or even get insurance for the phone which should cover such accidents.

I included the Palm phones because sometimes people don't like bigger phones in their hands when texting (especially if you want to be discreet in class!) So these two seemed pretty interesting. Definitely make sure to have the phone on automatic lock so you won't do any random dialing by mistake, lol.

I hope this helps!

I have the Blackberry Storm and I LOVE it!  I would highly recommend it! I do alot of texting also! It is a touch screen and I love Blackberrys. Keep in mind that with Verizon, you will need to add a data plan to your account, if you choose a smartphone. This is an additional $29.99/month and gives you unlimited internet. Everyone in my family-hubby and 2 kids in addition to myself all have Blackberrys. My daughter has the Tour, son has a Storm and hubby has the Curve. I would recommend Blackberry all the way!! This is my 2nd one! I have heard that the new Droid is a great phone too! People say that the browsing is a lot faster than the Blackberry, if that is important to you.
