It's one things when batteries crap out for laptops but I really get frustrated when the AC adapters short out or stop working for some other reason. On a grand note today I was able to locate for you some adapters to consider for purchase. I recommend either of the ones in the $30 range. Just be sure to compare shipping and handling price to truly get the item that costs less. There is such things an a universal adapter for Compaq notebooks however when I looked at the compatible laptops it mentioned Armada but not specifically the Armada 7400. I didn't recommend that because if it doesn't say it directly I wouldn't want any one to waste their time with purchasing something that perhaps will not even work. Frustration tends to ensue after moments like those.
