What would be a good price for a 42" plasma television. Probably Panasonic or Sony? Canada?

I've found the best price for a Panasonic plasma tv around $550. Its not a bad deal if you look at what repair costs for plasmas cost. Consumer Reports does recommend extended policies on LCD, plasma, and MMD sets (DLP, LCD projection, LCOS, etc.). The reason is that some of the cheapest components on the tvs (fans) can cost around $400 dollars to fix, yet if something really goes wrong, throw away the set and buy another one. Ask anybody in the CE business and they will tell you the same thing.
