Answer

We are seeking a quality water softener for our house. We went to Home Depot to price, and they sent out "specialist" to test our water. After doing so, he stated we needed top of line, life-time guaranteed model for over $3000. He also stated that standard water-softeners only have life of at most 5 years. Is this true? And what is quality softener in $350-$650 range that you have found works well?
