Sometimes you will learn that things can be much worse off then you are dealing with right now. Like for the elders that have been through Great Depression and they lived off the foods in the food cellar. They didn’t have the restaurants like we do now. They also went to other people’s house during the holidays or on certain days of the week so they could make ends meat with the food that they could afford. This is where kids will sit down and learn some of the traditions are celebrated in your culture for Thanksgiving.

One Thanksgiving the kids can receive gifts for just being them. Guests enjoy seeing the kids happy and having a good time. Yes, there is a chance that it is something is going to make their parent or guardian made but it is the thought that counts. It could keep them busy until dinner depending on what it is. You could feel thankful that they will be out of the way so you can attend to the guest’s needs easier. Just remember that you need to touch base with them once in awhile they don’t feel left out.

You may have a couple of helpers in the kitchen to finish the final touches on the meal but sometimes that don’t last very long if they notice someone that they have not seen in years. This is why it is good to mingle with everyone when you are hosting. Thanksgiving for the kids can be fun because they get to see long lost cousins or even friends from school that have moved away.

Thanksgiving for the kids can be too stressful with all the special napkins and dinner ware but it can also be a learning experience so later on when another holiday comes they know how to act and exactly how it all works.

When everyone is sitting at the dining room table the turkey will be brought out to be carved by the head of the table. The kids will learn that on Thanksgiving they need to be thankful for something and they need to share it with others at the table when it is their turn. This is where you find out exactly how everyone feels about their lives.
